SAMPLING IN URBAN GARDENS IN VIENNA

On July 20, 2021, our team (Philipp Spörl, Simone Trimmel and Johanna Irrgeher) was able to sample the urban gardens Paradeisgartl (Angyalföldstraße/Hans-Czermak-Gasse, 1210 Vienna; https://gartenpolylog.org/gartenprojekt/paradeisgartl-donaufeld) and Tigergarten (Am Tigerpark, 1080 Vienna; https://gartenpolylog.org/gartenprojekt/tigergarten) for the first time. Leaf samples, substrate samples and fruits were taken from the previously planted tomatoes, lettuce and radishes. These samples will be analyzed for technology-critical elements in the laboratories of Montanuniversität Leoben.
The pictures show the sampling in the Paradeisgartl and Tigergarten. In Paradeisgartl, Anna Karall and Bernhard Humting welcomed us and supported the sampling on that day – many thanks for that! We would like to take this opportunity to thank all community gardens and gardeners for making this planting campaign possible and for providing the space and watering the plants!
