Poster presentation at SETAC Europe 2025

Environmental scientists from across the globe gathered from 11th to 15th of May 2025 at the Austria Center Vienna for the cross-disciplinary 35th Annual Meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC): https://www.setac.org/discover-events/global-meetings/setac-europe-35th-annual-meeting

Each year, the SETAC Europe Annual Meeting features a plethora of oral and poster presentations on topics such as chemical safety, environmental monitoring, ecotoxicology, life cycle assessment and sustainable design. Under this year’s theme “Innovation for Tomorrow: Progress in Safe and Sustainable Concepts,” recent scientific findings and technological advances are discussed to foster responsible environmental decision-making and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) approaches.

Simone Trimmel (MUL) contributed to the conference with the poster presentation “Determination of Technology-Critical Elements in Urban Plants and Water using Inductively Coupled Plasma Tandem Mass Spectrometry.” The poster showcases the measurement procedure developed within TecEUS (published in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry (2023), https://doi.org/10.1007/s00216-022-04497-3) as well as the results from the case study on green facades and the Wienfluss (published in Science of the Total Environment (2024), https://doi.org/10.1016/j.scitotenv.2024.173364).

The conference offers a valuable platform for raising awareness for the relevance of environmental TCE analysis among an international audience from diverse backgrounds and to share the outcomes of our project with researchers and stakeholders working on bordering topics.
